When conducting this interview I hope to get to know Jeremy better and figure out what his motivation and goals are when looking at his interest in architecture. Also his answers will give me a glimpse into what kind of person Jeremy is and how his thinking has influenced his decision making accordingly.
1) What do you aspire to be after college?
Honestly I’m not sure what I aspire to be after college. I’ve considered a couple of careers, but I don’t know what’s really for me. I’m interested in becoming an architect for now, but I feel like that can change.
2) With drawing being an interest, do you wish to look at any other options besides architecture to pursue pertaining to art?
I’ve definitely considered and still am considering other options like becoming an art teacher or doing something along the lines of graphic design for companies.
3) What are your long term and short-term goals?
A major long-term goal is to own a house with enough field space to have a small farm. I used to want to be a veterinarian so being able to live with lots of animals is sort of a dream. A short-term goal is to figure out what I want to be after college.
4) Do you think being at city college will be helpful to you reaching your goals or dream job?
City college is definitely a start. If I want to be able to move further in life, I need all the help I can get. And college is a good place for help with figuring out what it is I want to do, and how to get to that part in life.
5) If you were able to get your dream job right now, where would you want to work?
I’d want to work in a Japanese company in Japan. The lifestyle there is pretty cool.
After talking with Jeremy I have learned he is a goal-oriented person who has interests in graphic design and his architecture pursuit is subject to change throughout his college career. He also finds city college as a great place to get started on such aspirations putting him in the perfect spot.
